Reduce your electric bill with the Ontario Electricity Support Program
If you are a customer of an electric utility and in a lower income home, you may qualify for a reduction on your electricity bill through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP). It is also available to customers of unit sub-meter providers and retail energy companies. You must apply to the program to receive the reduction.
If your home is electrically heated, or you rely on medical devices requiring a lot of power, OESP offers a higher level of assistance. It takes 6-8 weeks to process an application, so you should apply ASAP.
