Christmas Sharing Program

Last year, with the help of the community, the Christmas Sharing Program provided over 1420 families and individuals with food at Christmas time, representing over 3500 adults and children.  In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic presents many new challenges. Fundraising through usual means will not be possible, while at the same time the current economic downturn will increase the need for assistance.  If you don’t need help, please consider donating.

If you do need help, registration will be November 2 – 30 at the Christmas Sharing offices in Century Place, Belleville, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  This year they are introducing an online application as well.  Visit their website for more information.

Ensure when you register that you have proper identification with you, proof of income including social assistance statement, current pay stub and proof of address.  You must also advise if there are other people living in the home with you.  They will not be able to register you without this information.

They also register your children aged 10 and under for the toy drive. This information is passed on to the Belleville Firefighters.

This program covers the City of Belleville including Thurlow Twp., west to Whites Road, East to Shannonville (not including the reserve) and south to Ameliasburg.  For areas not covered by the program see this list for where you can get help in your area, as well as the Belleville area.

The Christmas Sharing Program is also hosting a Community Christmas Dinner on December 25, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. (for take-out and delivery) at  Salvation Army Community and Family Services, 295 Pinnacle Street, Belleville.
