Veterans' Pensions

Bureau of Pensions Advocates (BPA) - provides free legal help for people with decisions about their claims for disability benefits. This website also has links to explain the review and appeal process.

  • Seniors 50 years of age or older and who are still able to live on the 2nd floor without requiring the use of an elevator and wish to live in Frankford, Marmora or Madoc

  • Seniors 65 or older who wish to live in Marmora or Bancroft

  • Seniors 65 or older who required modified (accessible) accommodations  

National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) - international network of researchers, practitioners and students dedicated to improving the care of older adults, both in Canada and abroad


Old Age Security (OAS) - Information and frequently asked questions  (Application form, Rates)


Ontario Drug Benefit Program (ODB) - eligible if 65 or older and have a valid health card. Low-income seniors can apply for waiver of deductible and have co-payment reduced to $2.00.  Application available at your local pharmacy or call 1-800-575-5386.

Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) - call 1-855-ASK-RHRA (1-855-275-7472) to file a report of harm or risk of harm to a resident in a retirement home, or an abuse of the resident's money
