National Day of Remembrance – Dec 6

December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women in Canada. Established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada, this day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal. They died because they were women.

On this day we will reflect and pay tribute to the women who have been murdered or who are missing as a result of violence. This day is about remembering the victims and to take action.

Join us for the vigil and a performance by PECI students to raise awareness and to stand against gender-based violence.
