Defend Disability in Ontario
The Government of Ontario wants to change the definition of disability for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).
What does this mean?
It will be harder for people with disabilities to get ODSP benefits. Those who don't qualify for ODSP will have to rely on Ontario Works, which offers 37% less money and benefits.
The Defend Disability campaign is working to stop this change. They are letting people know how this change could hurt people with disabilities, and calling on us to take action.
For more information about the campaign and how these changes hurt people with disabilities visit their website: https://defenddisability.ca/about/
They are also holding a public meeting at North Hastings Community Trust, 23B Bridge Street, Bancroft on July 3, 2019, at 1-3 pm. All are welcome to attend.
